Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I get new Sudoku games?There are three ways. First, you can generate a new game from a set of pre-crafted games. Second, you can enter a new game by keying in the clues. Finally, you can retrieve games from your friends on Facebook.

  2.  What setup do I need to do so that I can get Sudoku games from my Facebook friends? First, login to Facebook. To do this, go to the Options tab and choose login. Then, from the list of your friends (still on the Options tab) subscribe to the friends you want to retrieve games from.
  3. I've finished the setup (question 2), now how do I get the Sudoku games? Choose the New tab. Next go preview game screen and pull down the list of games. On Windows / Mac, use your mouse. On a touch device, use your finger to pull down the list.
  4. Can I automatically post my completed game to Facebook?  Yes! On the Options tab, make sure the 'Post on Completion' checkbox is checked.
  5.  Can I automatically post a game I started to Facebook?  Yes! On the Options tab, make sure the 'Post on Start' checkbox is checked.
  6. My friends list is out of date. How do I refresh it?  On the Options tab, pull down the list friends. On Windows / Mac, use your mouse. On a touch device, use your finger to pull down the list.
  7. How can I get notified when I enter an invalid entry in the Sudoku puzzle?  On the Options tab, make sure the 'Show errors' checkbox is checked. Now if you enter an incorrect entry into the Sudoku puzzle, the incorrect cell will have a different background color.
  8. Does SudokuShared™ generate games with multiple solutions? No. All games have a single solution. If you find one with multiple solutions, please let us know, we'll fix it!
  9.  Can I create a game with multiple solutions?  No. SudokuShared™ will attempt to solve the game you input and if there is more than one solution, an error is flagged.
  10. How do you rank the difficulty of the game?  SudokuShared™ solves each puzzle and assigns a difficulty ranking to each technique used.
  11. Can I see the list of techniques needed to solve this puzzle?This will be in the next version. Currently, you can see the difficulty score that is generated by scoring the techniques used.
  12. How can I tell my friends on Facebook about SudokuShared™?  Choose the 'Invite' or 'Invite All' buttons on the Options tab. This will add a note to your friends wall on Facebook showing them how they can get Sudoku Shared™.
